A song by Jeff Vargas

I'm Hearing Your Voice

Coming October 30

What happens when life has beaten you down, you've made mistakes, and you can barely find your way forward—but you hear Jesus calling your name? I'm Hearing Your Voice is a deeply personal, emotionally powerful song about surrender, forgiveness, and finding strength in God's unwavering love. With vulnerable vocals and a moving gospel-inspired build, it's a reminder that even when we feel completely lost, Jesus hasn't stopped calling. And maybe, just maybe, He's calling your name, too.

Why I wrote this

There are times in life when you feel like you've done everything you know how to do, and somehow, you're still struggling.

I've had those moments. Times when life seems to hit from every direction. When I've questioned my decisions, struggled with mistakes I've made, and wondered why certain doors keep closing.

And sometimes, in the middle of all that, I've tried even harder to figure everything out on my own.

That's really where I'm Hearing Your Voice comes from.

It's about reaching a point where I realize I can't keep trying to control everything. I need Jesus to lead me, even when I don't understand where He's taking me.

One of the most personal moments in the song is right at the beginning, when Jesus calls me by name.

“Jeff.”

That single word means so much to me. The thought that Jesus knows me completely—every mistake, every weakness, every part of my life I'd rather forget—and still loves me is almost overwhelming.

This isn't a song about having everything figured out. It's about being tired, feeling lost, and admitting that I need help.

And it's about the incredible gratitude I feel knowing that even when I've wandered away, Jesus hasn't walked away from me.

Musically, the song starts in a vulnerable place and gradually builds into something fuller, with a gospel feel. But it never loses that sense of humility. Even at its strongest moment, I'm not declaring that I've conquered everything.

I'm simply asking Jesus to stay close.

Because I'm still learning. I'm still making mistakes. And there are days when I'm barely on my feet.

But I'm listening.

And I'm trying to follow His voice again.

And here's what I hope you'll take away from this song:

Maybe He's calling your name, too.
