Healing Hands on My Heart

Out now ·

Some losses change us forever. Healing Hands on My Heart is a heartfelt prayer for those carrying the unimaginable weight of grief, asking God for comfort, strength, and healing when the pain feels too heavy to bear alone.

Why I wrote this

There are moments in life that divide everything into before and after.

The loss of a child is one of them.

One moment, a family is living the ordinary rhythms of life. The next, everything changes. A bedroom becomes painfully quiet. Familiar routines become reminders of someone who should still be there. And a future once filled with possibilities is suddenly, unimaginably different.

A father who lost his 17-year-old son in a car accident described grief as carrying a backpack that never comes off.

Some days, it weighs 80 pounds. Other days, perhaps 20. But every single day, the weight is there.

That image captures something profound about grief. It doesn't simply disappear with time. It becomes something people learn to carry, sometimes with help from counseling, family, friends, and faith.

Healing Hands on My Heart was born from that understanding.

It is not a song about finding an easy answer to tragedy. There are no easy answers. It is not about pretending that faith erases the pain, or that healing means forgetting someone deeply loved.

Instead, it is a plea.

A prayer whispered through heartbreak, asking God to reach into the places where human strength is no longer enough.

To place His healing hands on a heart that has been shattered.

To provide strength for another morning, another difficult conversation, another day carrying that invisible backpack.

And while the song was inspired by one family's unimaginable loss, its message reaches far beyond a single tragedy.

Everyone carries something. A loss. A disappointment. A wound that hasn't healed. A burden the world cannot see.

Sometimes healing doesn't mean the weight disappears.

Sometimes it means finding the strength, through faith and the support of others, to carry it one more day.

God, place Your healing hands on my heart.
